went to PAC-Mall yesterday and a guy there said he will mod my ps2 for $100 and include 3games.

jus wanting to know if this is a good idea or bad idea and if there are any negative side effects.

u can get atleast 6 games and the mod done...u just gotta haggle abit...other than that, its a fair price

um if your ps2 is a newer version (not the 1st ones that came out) then u will be fine as the older ones lasers tend to burn out when reading copied media

i think i got it in 2002, didnt come with anything, just the 1 controller, payed 285 tax in. at future shop

if u paid 285 new then its a newer version and u should be fine...I'm talkin bout the ones that were 499 new like when they first dropped

There are web sites out there that can tell you approx. when your PS2 was made judging by the serial number built into the system, just gotta find the right web site for it!

my buddy's laser went and he has to get another one shiped from tokyo, its taking too long (around a month and still hasnt arrived), i got my ps2 around the same time (also modded) and no problems, my buddy got one of the first (even has the ghetto gameshark miod) and is still fine so i guess it has to do a bit with luck

that happened to mine too, but mine was friggin old and i played the crapola out of it.... i just bought a new one, the one with the network adapter, and i got 2 games, a card, a controller, and the dvd remote all for free

ok,... i'm assuming modded mean that you can play burnt games right? .. aren't most of the games dvd.. so to burn games you need a dvd burner?

yes, thats correct or u can buy em for 10bucks each at pac mall...I myself have a dvd burner...I dont know how people live without them!

I got a DVD burner - I never used it though. I thought about modding my PS2, but I haven't played it since like... January now.

by all means...u buy the media and supply the original to be copied (unless u want a copy of whatever I have) I can hook ya up...I take payments in beer or cash!
