Crossover SUV doesn't really make sense.

Station Wagon I think is the correct term for many of these "crossover vehicles"

What is it... Volvo Cross Country is an example, or like a Chrysler... Pacifica I think they're called... like a bulky wagon looking thing, but a little higher... remember the AMC Eagle... like that

Or the Nissan Murano?

Agreed, its just that if they used to term "wagon" when marketing them, they wouldn't sell as well. Its just another marketing term used to make the public think they are buying some fancy new type of vehicle.

Yup, they're essentially station wagons that are raised and usually have 4 wheel drive. Audi's All Road comes to mind as do the Chrysler Pacifica and the Volvo that bbarbulo mentioned.

I think that "Crossover" is essentially something that can't really be categorized as either a truck (SUV) or a car, since it combines elements of both. I'd also stick the Infiniti FX in this category since although its' appearance is truck-like, it's lower and has tons of power like a sports car.

forrester is a mini-SUV. ****** is so much more capable than 75% of big SUVs like Explorer, Jimmy and similar junk... I'd take that in a heatbeat!!

In the Subaru line-up, I think that the Baja is more of a crossover than the Forester is.

And bbarbulo, DITTO!!!!! Those Subaru's were doing the AWD/4x4 thing before it was popular so they know what they're doing. Those big SUVs like Expeditions, Envoys and the like are a huge waste of space, gas and probably can't do anything close that Subaru's, Land Rovers and those other companies can!
