Bartending school

Has anyone gone to a bartending school? I'm thinking of signing up @ the Ontario School of Bartending. Is it all it's worked up to be or is it just a bunch of bs? $200 doesn't sound that bad.

What do you guys think?

I did it a long time ago, and got my smartserve there, but from what I have heard, they no longer do the smartserve there. If they still do the smartserve, it's worth it, if not, just buy books.

the bartenders there know their ****... and they can teach you a lot of stuff books won't teach you... don't expect to go there, pass a two week course, and then think you'll get a job in a club... especially if you're a guy...

is that the one downtown T.O.? Vic's a good guy and runs a good school...

if you really want to learn from the best... talk to Dean @ Flairco... they teach how to flip bottles and stuff, but they also teach mixology... Dean is probably one of the most charismatic bartenders around... their website is www.flairco.com ... located on Spears St in Oakville.

hahahah... thanks Al...

Bartending's an awesome way to make money... and probably the easiest way to get laid... I highly recommend Flairco... he teaches you how to bartend properly, freepour, and soooooooo much more... he's also one of the best flair bartenders in Canada... I've competed with him all over Canada, and a bit in the US.

bbarbulo... check out the Loose Moose in Windsor... I know for a fact the bartenders make stupid money out there... we had a competition there a few months back.

Never heard of Loose Moose... I'll take a look. Sounds like a place outside of Ouellette, but I don't like to stumble too far away from downtown and home LOL Thanks barrieciv!!
