im kind of the opposite im bringing the civic out for the winter and storing my summer car. ive been driving civics for 11-12 years and never really had a problem in the winter with them. good winter tires and a small winterize tuneup and they are good as gold.

i say, as long as u have spent a lot of cash on ur car, or u kno u will be, then there is no point in drivin it in the winter....plus a beater is so cheap...i mean for like 1-3g u can get a nice running civic....so y not???i rather spend less on mods, then to have rust pop in my face....

I still don't see the point of this thread either. If your not going to drive it in the winter, put it away now. The cold temps and snow starting to come, why not store it before it snows while your driving the car you don't want driven in the winter?
Store it, bring out your winter car and call it a day. makes sense to me.
Civics are cheap cars anyways, they are meant to handle snow. get it undercoated, get good winter tires and if its lowered, put the stock suspension back on for winter. Problem solved.
Do we really need to discuss every year why to store or not store a civic away for winter and when to. If you look outside a think it will snow soon, i'd say thats a damn good time to think about storage. but maybe thats just me. After all, i'll drive my beater year round for cheap transportation

I see nothing wrong with storing a civic or any other cheap car, different things are important to different people.
I also don't care what anybody says, winters are hard on cars, even with the best rustproofing, undercoating, whatever, all those do is lessen the affects of winter on cars, but they don't eliminate it....

If your car is not capable of being drivin in the winter (air ride) or if you have thousands of dollars invested into the car and you want to keep the car pristine for shows or something along those lines, then it is a good idea to store it.
My car can and always will be driven around. My winter tires are going on towards the end of the month so that way it is still warm enough for me to be able to go out and wash my rims before I store them for the winter.

my winter tires will be on by the end of the month....although i want to put them sooner cuz my all season XGTs are slipping mad in the rain.
on the point of winter prepping...just a quick one here. do you guys really recommend swapping the stock suspension back if the ride is lowered. im not too slammed (1.7F and 1.5R) but was just thinking if that is a good idea or no?

My 7, (Mazda Efini FD3CS) was put into storage last week...fluids drained, fuel cell drained, and everything was taken apart, cleaned out, lubed and sealed for the winter months. She's sleeping quite comfortably on six stands. Battery's been hooked up to a tender and that's it. There she will sleep under a cover until spring. My snows on my civic will go on in the first week of November.
Cheers,
Buddah.

Nothing wrong with storing a car, regardless what car it is. We can't be agreeing on everything.
Anyway, which ever car you drive, you still need to drive it with care, whether you have snow tires on or not. I am still on all season because they still have treads on them.
Spending money on storage, another good way to help out the economy, why not.
