Bond007 is right.

Friction is the only way to absolutely remove dirt..

My girlfriend designs plane/tank/train/car washes for a living..

bond is also correct because a touchless car wash still touches the car....

I was stupid once and went into a carwash with those rails that guide your wheels(didnt realize it till I was stuck in the lineup)... ******* thing gashed up my rim real good.. I was not impressed...

But i learned my lesson, never use any carwash! If I do have to go to a coin op, (if im away from home or something) I use my own bucket, soap, and sponge... just dont let the management see you, they rang out, cuz its like eating a mcdonalds meal in a burgerking or something...lol

soft cloth really isnt' any better....becausse cars go threw before geting pre sprayed down and rocks and sand get into the soft cloth brushes...(saw it numerous times, the petro beside my shop had to pay for a coupel paint jobs) the best way is hand wash with detailing mit's and a shamy to wipe it down after...this is the only way I'd reccomend. THe shop I use to work at charged 15-25 bux for a complete hand wash with premium soap.

Well this is the wife's protege (I try not to drive the sol in the winter)

And I can't stand washing the car in the cold. Takes too long and water and cold + outside with wind = sick (no thanks...)

I took the hose off my the side of my house and shut off the pipe running to it already.. it freezes up if I don't and the pipe starts to crack inside the house from the frozen water backlogged in the pipes... therefore.. crack pipe == water flood in basement
