Sweet Swap Motor...Hondas new K23A1

Found this article on hondas new K23A1 motor that will be in the new acura RDX suv.

Looks pretty cool, and check out the variable turbo....

New K23A1

Would make a nice swap motor....?(if you had the money of course)

(forgive me if this has been posted before)

260-270hp would be 220-230whp considering that most fwd suffer a 15% power loss through the drivetrain.

There is a vid of a dyno on the new RDX, 215whp.

true, its a shame their new turbo car is an suv...but my friend at acura went to the employee test drive where they had on hand the new cx-7 and the murano...
he said it blows the other two away, the interior is ALMOST to the level of the RL, and its pretty damn fast! the awd system which first came in the RL is used in this car, and its not even a comparison to the other two...in the dirt it the variable power distribution basically turns the car for you when you have limited traction, where as he almost crashed the cx-7 when attempting the same maneuvers...
u will pay a bit more than the mazda, but its well worth the money if u want this type of vehicle...
hopefully ppl arent scared of buying the first gen of the turbo motor so we can see it again in the future!

Doesn't that setup lose boost when the inlet to the turbine opens up more? since the inlet to the turbine gets bigger as the rpm's go up, the velocity of the air decreases.....

You can see it in that dyno video, where the guy says the boost drops off around 4.5K rpm

that turbo would be good for engines that need more low end and less stress at the high end, great setup though!

isn't the rdx 4wd though? i'm talking about if you were to put this in a fwd car. a 4wd will have greater drivetrain loss.
