Both are nice cars, but I wouldn't buy a car that has engine transplanted.

If I have to pick, I would go with ITR. If I have a choice, I would source out a 6th gen hatchback that is still in OEM spec.

Thanks for all the great reply fellas. Looks like tye type r's got a lot of fans....ironically in a civic forum!

Does anybody know anyone who has a type r and drives it in the winter? Type R insurance is also much higher than civic. Lastly, I've currently got a b16 ef hatch right now and according to the numbers, the R is not that much faster than me whereas the h22 would be much more noticeable power difference. Basically, I don't want to get a car, spend close to 20g's and find that it's only marginally faster than what I had.

This is of course not factoring looks and handling. How much is it to do a front end conversion for the type r by the way?

Did you even look at the differences in insurance rates?? (you'll save a ton of cash on the civic) unless ur 30 with no tickets.
How fast that ITR will be stolen off your driveway as opposed to a civic if it's kept clean and almost stock looking? Can't even park the damn car anywhere b/c it will be gone by the time you get back to the car. What about winter driving? Cost differences (you'll be saving more on the civic)

Up to you, ITR is a much better/nicer car, but is it really worth it at the end? Always gotta worry about your car being driven off while your banging your g/f a few meters away from it.

If you do decide to go the ITR route, have enough cash saved on the side for a boomerang kit along with a good pager alarm system.

gl on your choice, they're both really good choices so you'll definitely be happy with either or.

the civic willl handle like poo compared to an itr, and with the added h22 it will handle even worse, it will probably be faster in a straight line but wheres the fun in that, just go buy early 90's a 5.0 mustang

I think ITR's are well over priced (IMO) plus Civic's are more fun to drive if you have your car set up right...

Monthly insurance + payments on a ITR hurt big time where as the Civic, you can built it up slowy without going into debt...more bills in your pocket = happier life.
