suggestions on which engine

i got a eg with 1.5L nonvtech stock engine. thinking of putting in another d series in it. should i go with zc vtech, non vtech zc, dohc zc, d15b vtech or d15b non vtech. i was leanning more toward the d15b non vtech. this engine has carbs on it. whats the horsepower rating on that engine. and if i was suppose to go with a vtech engine which one would be best. im not going to mod it jus drive it stock. and all these engine use my tranny and axles rite? and what about ecu. is it hard to wiring in vtech. and pics on how to wiring vtech thanks.

why do you want to swap? is there something wrong with your engine? cuz honestly d series don't push alot of power.. if you're looking for more I'd go with a b series..

btw it's vtec which stands for valve timing electronic controlled. :P

For engine spec's check this link out

Curious what car are you using now? The only one I can think of carb is an old CRX with the D15A2. If this is correct you might have to upgrade your fuel pump etc since FI requires a higher fuel PSI level than a carb.

you ll have ecu issues with almost all of those options except the D15 non vtec. I change my motor (D16Z6) the past summer and thats the route I wish I took. I used to get 600KM to a tank now I get 400KM

Maybe you mean DPFI ? I would get the D15b and the correct ecu ($100), wire in the vtec and call it day. I wouldn't deal with anything that has a carb on it. Your asking for more troubles ie. changing out your fuel pump, ecu, etc.,

I'd just go for a straight replacement for your engine, it's less hassle.. just pull your engine and drop the new one in..

and I don't recommend dealing with tiger... I haven't dealt with them personally but I've heard nothing but bad things about them..

Honestly bro, go here and search some more. If there's nothing wrong with your engine keep it, otherwise just do a straight swap.

How do you figure?......I have a Bisi powered ZC non-vtec 1.6 lt that will walk on a B16 with I/H/E. If you want to build a D the right way you can make big power. I'm running 14 flat on street tires with my set-up.
Build what you want and can afford.

Oh yeah, Vtec on SOHC is a waste of time. It's built strictly for fuel ecomnomy. The fastest N/A SOHC Honda engines in the world are non-vtec.
Bisi is running a 9.45" @ 145mph N/A on a non-vtec setup. Don't get caught up in the hype.
Definetly not a waste on DOHC though, thats a different story!
