Question Tire Suggestions

So I need to get some new tires.....
And I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what to buy, or not to buy. Im looking for a high performance wet and dry tire. Good wet traction is important, living in Victoria it rains a couple feet every winter and usually once a day from Oct to May. But, I also want awesome dry traction. There are some pretty twisty roads around here and lots of mountains...

195/50/15

try toyo 4 or the new falken 912 - these tires has great reviews both in wet and dry.

from my experienced...stay away from dunlop 901 as i was a lil scared driving them in the rain.

I actually found RA1 to be quite good in the rain, and it is speaking from my bald ones on the front, on a track lapping.

I love my Toyo Proxies T1-R's

Fantastic wet and dry traction. Horrible in the snow though lol.

The RA1 looks nice, but i need a daily driver tire.... Right now im thinking of the proxies, but haven't finalized my decision yet. Not to concerned about driving in the snow. Last year we had 3 weeks were i didn't drive the car due to snow and that was considered a very snowy winter here.

btw thanks for that link Charles, the prices on there are much cheaper then what the local shops want to charge me! There are downsides to living on an island, everything is expensive here!

Im using General Exclaim UHP tires on one of my Si's. They are an excellent tire in the wet and try. They are quiet and ride very nicely and they were under $600 tax inc for a set of 17's. I would highly recommend them and they ranked very high on Tire Rack too.

I've been using the Falken Azenis RT615 (205/50/15). so far, they're really good in the dry and the rain.

Well I've ordered a pair of proxy 4's. Can't wait to get them in as im pretty much not driving right now. Big downside to living on Vancouver Island / BC in general I keep having to order things from another province. i.e my tires are coming from Calgary!

I highly suggest Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. I have not personally used this tire but honda-tech and tirerack's reviews on this tire is very good. Apprently it offers great dry & wet traction.

I'm runnig Yok's ES100 in your size and love them. Falken Azenis would be comparable in price and performance IMHO.

The goodyears were the exsisting tires on the car. They were really good for the 1st year or so, but after that i wasn't overally pleased with there performance. I've got the proxy 4's now. So far im happy. For what they cost they are doing quite well!

EFsiR has it right, Yokohama AVS ES100, super nice, super gippy wet or dry. I've run them wheel to wheel and they're great, you can find grip even in the groove on a wet track with those things. Best street tyre I've ever driven, including R-Comps.

Sidenote, Toyo's are garbage. We'll see if they redeem themselves with the RA1, 888 compound next season.

Junk tires. I hate them. The Generals I have are so much better.

I was just out on your very beautifull and very very rainny island. I spent 8 days in Tofino. Driving that highway from Nanimo to tofino in the rain and fog, at night on the way in, dry as a bone on the way out but it rained 5 1/2 days outta the 8 I was there. get bored go for a drive on that highway.

I'm running nitto neogen's 205/50r15. I have done a ton of things to my car in the name of handling but these tires grip like a cat on a carpet, wet or dry. I've put 70-80k on my car this year, and 60 or so last year. bought the tires mid summer last year and they still have enough on them that I could run them again next season. I plan to run Azenis or maybe the nitto NT-01's next year and using the neogens for the track tho
