So, gatherer and I were at Shannonville yesterday
We went with other Asian folks. A lot of nice cars but mostly stock with mild mods like suspension, tires, rims ... etc.
My car runs on stock suspension and it was a scary ride at first lap because it was my first ever track experience and we were running full track, I simply didn't know where the hell I was going. Some cones weren't up yet to block off part of the track. On the first lap, I almost lost control cause I had no idea what was the entering speed. After a lap or so, I began to test my car's limit and started to feel this experience.
I sat in gatherer's car for 2 laps and he drove hard. He sat in my car and he said it wasn't a fun ride cause I was left-foot braking all the way.
I moved alot even in my seats. I honestly need harness to tie me down but also need a cage to make things properly. But that's something later in the future.
Suspension work will be done next year. Until the next track event, I hope I can have my front/rear sway bars installed so I can feel some improvements.
One Audi A6 lost control and oversteered a little; one Turbo Golf spun into the grass area. All and all, no one was hurt and it was a safe track event.
I figure once a month is enough, the fee and the gas and the oil change will empty my wallet pretty soon if I do it too frequently.

Cost can vary. Some people charge 100 bucks for full track, some charge 80. We paid 80. The more people you have, the more you split the cost. 80 from 5 30 to 9pm ain't bad. You can lap as many times as you want, the only limitation is your car overheating and braking fading, and how much gas you have. Full track is a little over 4 km, and has 14 corners.
Full track in the evenings are 550 an hour, half tracks are 275 an hour. So if you lap for 3 hours, you can figure out how many people you want to invite and how much will each person split.

All I can say is if you mod your car (ICE only excluded), you should go try it out and test the mods. Go home and improve and go track again. Daily driving won't give you much feedback (unless you race on the residential street going around corners 3 in the morning).
Of course, cars that came off the dealer's lot costing 40G at least are near race prepared already so if you drive one of those, you should go test your car and your driving skill.
Edit: 40G is just a figure, you can race any car you like.

Check out www.battleendless.com
They have got 3 or 4 more track events left for this year. But there are way more groups out there that has made and will be booking the track so just ask around. Battleendless has 1 full track day in August.

Nova left out the best part and thats me driving a NSX around the track for 2 laps... definiantly didn't push it hard but it was fun to try out...
he also forgot to mention the spin I took with him in my car...
and the fact that it wasn't the left foot braking that freaked me out but the lack of braking..
Also Nova Left foot braking is ussually not required on the track... (yes there are certain parts where it can be done effectively) but for the most part work on regular braking and the basics....

last year he was killing mustang, camaro, trans am all day
the power to weight ratio ... only car gave him trouble was a Viper GT-S all done up but mind you on the back stretch the GT-S was gone ... by the end of the track he was back on his *** ... but then the back stretch and the GT-S was gone again !
