Gatherer's and Stewpiddass's 2005 Challenge

Hello Everyone,

in the interest of showing all you hot shots up (and I know there are tons of you that think your a hot shot.) come take the 2005 beginners challenge. here's how it works.

I drive a stock class civic, Stewpiddass drives a street prepared civic. both are prepped close to the max for the classes they are in.

If you come out to a club level autocross (regionals won't count because you don't qualify to run them) and want to take the challenge you have to let one of us know before hand. you enter the event. if your fastest time of the day is better the one of our fastest times of the day we will pay you your entry fee to the event. you beat both of us you get back 2 times your entry fee from us. If you lose (which you will) then you don't get anything from us ( but you also don't have to pay us anything either).

This is for people that have been to 3 or less autocrosses in their life time.

I ran this in 2003 and 2004 and have yet to be beaten. I have run the stock car against guys with B series swaps and turbos. No problem 2005 should be a yawn again since there's no one brave enough to take me up on the challenge.. and if they do get the ***** to come out they ain't fast enough to take my money.

Stewpiddass you can add your Smack talk anywhere you want

Gallagher,

no one has ever rolled in the 2 years I've been in solo. And from what I've heard there hasn't been roll overs in Autocross in ontario in the past 10. if you roll it's because you don't know how to drive. Also the waiver you have to sign keeps you from sueing anyone don't come if your worried about rolling over...it's your car and your decision to make.

Driving in an autocross at the limits is still safer then driving ont he street stats prove this.

I wouldn't worry much either, I know I drift and spin out quite often and I've pulled the e-brake at well over 80 and never been near rolling over, and that's with R Compounds.

[smack talk on]

You guys aren't afraid of a couple of little D15's are ya?

[/smack talk off}

This is all for fun so don't take our smack talk too literally, we just want to get more TCC guys out to autocross events. But don't get us wrong, we will pay if by some strange chance you manage to beat us.

[smack talk back on]

If you do fairly well you'll at least get Jason's money... LOL

[/smack talk off]

And for the record, I drive a '93 LX Sedan (yes I said sedan!, it's a family car) with a stock, 12 year old, non-vtec, 102 hp D15 with the following mods;

- Koni Yellows / GC Sleeves / Eibach Springs
- JDM LSD tranny (& light flywheel)
- Intake / Header / Exhaust
- No swaybars
- Strut tower bars
- sticky tires
- GSR Brakes & Powerslot Rotors

I'll be out for sure. I guess I'll be in the same class as Tod as I have pretty much all the same mods (different suspension setup)
and no lsd

Actually no, the rule book is pretty complicated but you'd probably be in FSS (Super Stock) while I'm in FSP (Street Prepared).

SS is allowed 6 points where SP is allowed 15 but some mods are restricted by class.

suspension - 3 pts (any or all)
LSD - 1 point in SS (free in SP)
header - 2 pts
light flywheel - 2 pts
I/H/E - free
Strut Bars - free
camber kit - only allowed in SP
chg in gearing - only allowed in sp (this applies to you too if you got a Si tranny)
GSR Brakes - only allowed in SP
Swaybars - 1 point each if different from stock

ok... maybe you are in FSP

What would I be classified as ?

Koni Yellows
Rs*R srpings
Front sway
Rear Sway
Rear Strut
Camber Kit
JDM 2nd Gen B16
Lightened flywheel
Clutch
LSD
Exhaust (no header/stock)
CAI
FPR
MSD

Couple other things I cannot think of right now....

As soon as you said B16, you're in Mod, none of the other parts matter, you'll get killed but it'll still be fun to run your car. Quite often swapped Civics (2 of them in particular, a B18 and a B20) are getting FTD's (fastest time of the day).

average entry fee is 30 dollars but it has been in the range of 20 to 40

As for you Todd I didn't want to embarrass you (joking) your a great driver.

Anyways as the season gets closer I'll post where I'm going to be.

The events Todd and myself will be at will be posted here as soon as each of us has figured out our schedules. Once posted you can then decide which event you want to try and beat us at.

(Plus my schedule so far is at work and I'm at home)

it will take place during the summer

I have power steering, Jason doesn't, found it weird when I ran his car in Ottawa.

I think Jason will be doing quite a few more events than me this year (happens when you have a wife...) I'm sure I'll still do 20 in the least.

Location of events depends on the hosting club;

TLMC holds events at the Barrie Molson Center (in Barrie)(I should be at most of these)
HADA holds events ... (not sure where yet this year)
COMP holds events at the Bronte GO Station (in Oakville)
MSOC holds events at the Hershey Center (in Mississauga)
WOSCA holds events at the Blandford Mall (in Woodstock)

We will also be going to regional events in Ottawa, Peterborough and Picton and I think Jason will be attending quite a few national level events in the West and East...
