Radio needs code to operate

Radio needs code to operate

I purchased a 2002 used civic and forget my headlights on my radio is now asking me for a code , does any one know how I can get this code?

did you buy it used from a dealer? if so, they should have it, or given it to you. if not, check any official honda dealer. They might be able to find it based on your car's VIN.

yeah, it might be there too.

my gf's civic did the same thing, battery died and radio needed the code. wasn't in the back of her's though. The dealer gave us the code on some card or something. her dad kept it in a file.

take the deck out and take it to honda and they should be able to give you the code for it, if you can't take it out I think they charge $50 to do it..

Turn key to AUX on. (one click)
Turn power off to the deck...
Hold 1 and 6
While holding 1 and 6 press power to the deck
And itll give you a 5-6 digit number
Call dealer with that number

You only have 10 tries... so get it right

Correct. It's the only easy way to do it without having to remove your deck which is not advisable.

No, most manuals don't come with the code. After you purchase the vehicle, they will give you the code for it with a VIN check. Then you write it down on your manual.

Correct. This procedure gives you the factory serial number for the radio and this is another way to getting the code besides the VIN.
