Question AEM SRI installation help?

New to the club, so bear with a n00b please

Anyway, I'm running a 1992 Civic LX (EG8) with no mods at all other than a cluster pulled from a 95 EX. I picked up a new AEM short ram intake a few days ago (polished for those curious lol) and the directions supplied kinda caught me off guard... thus I've tried searching all over the forum but couldn't find anything regarding the topic, so does anyone know where I could find simpler directions or if someone could post directions? Pics are also a BIG help, I'm not so skilled with engine parts terminology!

Also, I've heard conflicting reports of hydrolock happening and not happening with SRIs... any thoughts?

Thanks much, great to be part of the forum

I wouldn't worry about hydrolocking if its a short ram, for installation just take out the black air filter box + piping then put in the SR pipe with the airfilter

Anyone know where there's a DIY for installing one? I'm just a little confused with the coolant lines and stuff... gotta remember, total n00b here lol

I see... cause the instructions were saying that I'd have to drain at least 1 gallon of coolant, pull this particular coolant line out, remove that return line, blah blah blah... I'll give it a shot and see how it goes, thanks much guys

the coolant line is right beside the crankcase breather line. If you want to remove the coolant line, make sure you pinch it otherwise coolant will splatter. usually the metal plate connecting the coolant line and crankase line is rusted so that both the lines are really stuck together. It would be easier to just remove the crankcase line from the valvcover and the old intake, installing the new vacuum line an leaving the old line attached to the rusted plate. If you need any help, feel free to pm me and I could explain in more detail for you.
