Lost Ownership.. what do to???

hey guys, when i was in the midst of selling my car, i let the person buying it take the ownership b/c he was interested... now that he aint interested in the ride he misplaced it..


can i go to the DMV to get a new one??? and what else do i need for proof????

yes you can get it replaced, i think it costs $10, take your license and I think you need your plate number too.

i dont have my plates on me, b/c it was taken off while i was doing my plates

i have the plate number though

You gave him the ownership because he was interested??

Why in gods name would you do that? If he wants to the VIN #, write it on a piece of paper.

you dont need plates or anything.
as long as your the owner.
just go to the ministry and tell them u lost the ownership.
they will take your licence and enter it and then find the correct car under your name and then print out the ownership.
it cost like 10 dollars or some ****.
however if you gave the guy your plates too and he lost that too then you have to get new plates.

did that guy gave you money? no money, don't give out ownership, not even if you receive a deposit, you give out your ownership....

better watch ur car man...u don't have the ownership anymore...he can just grab the car and change ownership...just watch out

when i misplaced my ownership because i was too drunk! i slept in my car the whole night ti'll i got sober...good thing i found it the next day somewhere in my jacket...u should really be careful. don't just give any paper work on some people!!!

they can try it but they have to move the SIR first and once that alarm goes, im already outside with Louisville!

the point is... if they changed the ownersihp already.....(well you have to sign the paper as well, so you should be safe)

but suppose you signed and he changed it... no matter if you have a louisville or alarm... he has the rights to tow your car or call the police... coz once he's the owner, you're a thief holding his car...
