If your interested i work out at a shop in oakville and I do alarms, tv, stereo's pretty much all the mobile a/v stuff. Give my cell a call anytime if you want and we can even meet up so you can see al the audio/ video/ alarm/ etc that I have done on my own car, the name's Blair BTW.
PS: The shop I work for can also do suspension, tires, performance accessories, whatever you want.

I can only suggest what's already been done, but since I just bought my '03 SiR this past June, maybe I can tell you what I've done.
1. Get an alarm. That's top priority.
2. Get yourself a decent suspension. Basic lowering springs work, but from what I understand, over time your stock shocks will eventually blow (guys, feel free to correct me on this). I say spend the extra dough and get a complete coilover system.
3. Rims.
4. Window tinting, perhaps?
5. Short shifter/shifter bushings. It's a simple mod that, while adding no power, makes a world of difference in providing a better feel to your car.
From there, you have plenty of options to choose from. Case in point, I bought a barely used PACER car, which came with a complete body kit, aftermarket rims, stereo and woofers, and there is still so much I want to do to my car. But you have the right idea... go slow at first. Your credit card will thank you

Drive your car, exactly the way it is now, for a year and two. Experience with Honda Engineering with daily driving experience, whether it is sunny, raining, snow storm and heavy fog.
Occasionally, practice your skill and have a little spirit driving moment.
Then, you modify.

Honest an alarm on a totally stock car is a waste of money imo. However do what you want cause it's your cash.
Also I'd drive it for a bit since you've got a full warrenty on the car. If you drop it and something suspension wise breaks, Honda will put up a fight and you make end up paying for it.
On top of that, please don't get white rims.

And if I can't take em down with that, chances are I deserve to have my car jacked anyways.

Lowering your car is one the best thing you can do with your car and makes a whole world of difference. A complete coil over system is a waste of money as they are usually stiff ride and more for race track. For a daily driver, get lowering springs as they are progressive and give you balance of comfort and handling. From experience, these springs work well with stock shocks as long as the springs are not over 2.0 inch lowering. You can get a great deal from Astroboy for the Teins or Neuspeed which are both $260 with tax included. If you want stiffer springs and willing to payer higher, the H & Rs are great so I hear.
I just bought a front strut bar for my Civic today at Pacific mall and hope to see any difference in the handling, it was only $40 as it's no name brand. There are so many things to get but you should get what you REALLY need for your driving style or preference. Good luck dude!

I would suggest you only do minor modifications to your vehicle (that will not void your warranty):
1. stereo and alarm
2. rims
Remember changing your suspension will void your bumper to bumper warranty when it comes to those parts, take it from someone who has had balljoints replaced three times. 60K is the magic number
Powertrain warranty is finished at 100K. Don't give them any reason to deny you coverage.

Congrats on your new car.
I myself looked into a 2k5 Si but with the car being almost 24k (when you factor in freight) I thought it was too much for a Civic IMO.
I picked out a Nissan 1.8S which I've been waiting for since mid Dec!!!
Anyways I say drop, or alarm... but are you leasing or financing?
I"m presuming you mean finance so I say alarm 1st of all. Pager alarm I think would be best.
Enjoy!
