Engine oil disposal

Hey I used to dispose of engine oil at Canadian tire for free but since they demolished the pit stop center at the McCowan and Sheppard some guy there said I can't dispose of it there now and if I wnated to I would have to pay like 2 dollars to do it.

I thought the government set up collection centers for free to encourage people from dumping it down the drain, now I have to front the cost of being envirnomentally friendly???

Does anyone know of a free disposal center?

THX!

Our shop accepts used oil. Sometimes we have no choice, cuz ppl like to just leave half a dozen 4L jugs at our door before we get there in the morning.

...and that's part of the reason we have a $1.50 environmental charge.

Try one of the city-run hazardous waste disposal stations. There used to be one at the transfer station at Vic. Park and McNicoll in Scarborough. Not sure if its still there, but you could call the city to find out where the one closest to you is.

Dynamic Drive just west of Markham Rd.

There is a transfer station that will accept your oil at no charge.

Walk up to the garage area in the back, and there is a table with a signup sheet. Someone should be there for you to sign in your used oil.
