The 2000-01 Si has a little more HP
The rest I 'll have to leave to others.

foistly, lemme point out that the EX is a US model..
are you therefore referring to the SiR as the Si??
Canada has the DX, LX and Si which are the Gen7 coupe and Sedan (not the Si tho, no sedan)..
the SiR is the one that resembles the wagon/hatch (American denotion is Si)
the DX and LX have 115 ponies where the Si has 127hp and VTEC
the Sir, you'd have to talk to Buff...
and ya, Jeff goofed

in 2002 and 2003 we being the U.S. dont even have a coupe SI there ALL hatchbacks now so 2001 is the last year we had a coupe SI
we hav the LX and the DX and then the top model civic now in a coupe is the EX correct if you know different. and the EX comes with 127 ponies and the SI in 2000 and 2001 came in a coupe with 160 some Im pretty sure. but the ex motor is .1 litre bigger. So I am basically wondering should I get a 2000 2001 SI coupe or a 2002 2003 EX what do ya think

Brad,
If you are still wanting information, I would go with the 99/00 Si Coupe. I personally have a 2000 SiR (equivalent to the U.S. Si).
From here, I will be writing as if I were strictly talking about U.S. cars:
As others have written, the Si Coupe was for 99/00. There was no Si for 01. It came out as a hatchback in 02.
Here are some specs:
99/00 Si Coupe,
160 hp, DOHC VTEC, 5 Speed Manual only. 4 wheel disc brakes. No ABS in U.S. models.
Pros: Lots of parts from aftermarket, loves to rev, looks better than the newer Civics (IMO).
Cons: Premium gas, if revved hard...poor fuel economy. Expensive in the used car market. A big target for thieves. Insurance premiums. A little noisy. Body isn't as stiff as in the new models.
01-03 Civic EX Coupe/Sedan
127 hp, SOHC VTEC, 5 Speed Manual or 4 Speed Automatic. Front discs, rear drums. ABS optional. If you must go for one of these, go for the 2003. For 2003, they added alloy wheels modified the suspension and made other changes particularly, to the interior.
Pros: Regular gas, better fuel economy. Almost as much (more maybe?) torque as the old Si. Insurance might be cheaper (from 01 immobiizers were standard). You can buy one new with full warranty. Stiffer body. Quieter.
Cons: Less aftermarket parts but there are more and more being added every day. Doesn't look as nice as the older Civics (again IMO).
