Hopefully this guy isnt connected and doesnt know anyone... but when do you meet a tamil guy who doesnt kno 100 other ones?
getting your jdm front end and a sound system stolen isnt as bad as losing your life or bringing harm to the rest of your family. I would have done the same thing.

That's true, about the theft under because your right, you can't prove they were trying to steal the car. They could have been trying to steal the stereo like you said. But lets say he could prove they were going to steal the vehicle it would be Attempted theft over (OR Attempted Grand Theft) I honestly don't think those other guys are going to rat on him though. Unless they really really got it bad it wouldn't be worth it for them to take the heat like that.

Don't forget he found a list in the guys car with his adress and his car make/model and list of the mods and parts they were gonna sell and their prices....and correct me if I'm wrong but there were other cars on that list???

Unless they actually stole his car, there is no crime here. You and I and anyone else for that matter can walk around with all sorts of lists, it is our freedom to do so.

Same thing happened to me once.
I was at work (security guard)<--- (lol ... I know) and I heard a noise outside. Went out saw a green neon driving away and notice some small damge on my car and that my lcd was gone but they had not taken the rest of my stuff so I camp out waited like 15 minute and they came back... I jumped the gun and ran out before they got out of the car. all I got was the plate, I wish I could re-do that part in my life... patience is key.
This is where I agree the police are useless with this stuff. I called them gave them the plate number and filed a report. Absolutely nothing came out of it. But when I went to the cop shop I did take a peek at their computer and saw the dudes address.
if you don t see them do it or don t catch them in the process then you don t have ****
even two years later I still remember ASTS 502 and Ill never forget but even if I see them or go to their house what will I do? what can I do ? Absolutly nothing.
Its too bad he was not able to catch them in the action before beating them down.

damn, markham area is scary.
For all we know these guys are on this forum too. They do drive civics and have an interest in civics (enuff to steal them!). So dont give them too many ideas.
At least they'll think twice before stealing another car.

Firstly, those guys got what they deserved
Secondly, you are ****ed. Those guys will come back with every single person they know (friends, brothers, uncles, etc). I would consider leaving your house and buying one elsewhere because I'm sure those guys will come back and **** up your car, house or even worse, your family. Those kind of people don't think in the sense that they got what they deserved. They think that they got ****ed over (even though they were the theifs) and they will pretty much take that out on you.
Sadly in a situation such as this, you are definitely screwed.
