Aftermath of my repairs

Ok dudes..

As you are all aware... I brought my car to an exhaust shop and they backed it into a pole... anyways.. my car was sent to a body shop and they repainted everything and fixed everything but there's still a problem!

1. The paint is peeling in some spots.
2. Excess paint in some other spots
(NOTE... the paint is not what I care about)... but this is what I do care about.

3. The bumper sits lower around the taillight than it should. THere is a big gap
4. The bumper and the quarter panel don't meet properly
5. The clip is broken behind the quarter panel.
6. The clip rattles like a ************...

Anyways.. I'm tired of this pansy horseshit that they do... so I've decided to take my car to a Honda dealership to get it fixed.

NOW.. I want to know if you guys think this place will agree to pay for the repairs that Honda puts to them... I could care less how much it costs but do you think this place would pay the value or would it make me pay for it?

If they make me pay for the repairs that THEY inflicted to my car... What should I do?

To sum it all up.. what should I do? Would they pay repair costs done PROPERLY by Honda?

Please let me know... cuz I'm tired of this horseshit and refuse to leave my car there again... I'm tired of that cheesy *** **** of me not getting my car back for such a long time... I was without my car for 9 days and I kept getting the run around.. besides.. it's too far.

did you speak to the repair shop again, telling them that you were dissatisfied with the quality of the repairs as you were advised to Friday night??
i'd suggest that first..
i'll personally attest to the prior shape of the car, that there were no broken clips prior to, no gaps or sagging body panels.... i'll sign whatever affidavit might be required.......

if they refuse to take care of things properly take it to Honda for a quote and go from there......

I was deciding whether or not to go there but by the looks of things.. it doesn't seem like they know how to work with Japanese cars very well...

I refuse to leave my car there for another 9 days when I could leave it at Honda for like 3 days and possibly have it ready!

So forget that.. 9 days is out of the question.

ANd to be honest.. 1/2 the time I can't even get a hold of the guy working @ the body shop...

I had a bad experience and I will NOT return unless it will be done in 3 hours and I'll just sit around waiting.

You don't suggest Honda cuz to be quite honest.. I rather go to Honda... or my dad's favorite dealership... Ken Shaw Lexus Toyota and get them to fix it! I bet they'd do a better job than this body shop!

Go back to teh muffler place and show/tell them how dissatisfied with the work. Get a quote from Honda or where ever you want and show it to the muffler shop.
If you just go to Honda and have it fixed without there knowledge or consent you will have a long fight to get the money.

Talk to them but don't be a ***** they should pay for it to be fixed night or at least the guy who did it.

Also, not for a ***** myslef, from now on do what I do. Only owners or adults drive my car when it gets worked on orI drive it myself.

I watch so closely when people drive my car now... I was watching the guy when he drove my car into the shop... he was also revving to about 2500 when engaging my gears.. I rather that than stalling my engine to be honest.

But I'm going to Honda.. getting an estimate... tomororw night.
Going to the exhaust place Tuesday morning armed with the estimate.. and I will see if they approve of the repair costs.

good luck with it man, let us know how it goes.

if it doesnt work out for you then get a lawyer and sue their @ss. sounds like you have a pretty good case. and if you win, they get to pay for your legal fees too!

hope it doesnt come to that though...

My car's going to the shop on Friday.. I should have it back by Wednesday or so...

I will either get cash from the exhaust shop.. or I'll get my insurance to pay for it.. one way or another.. it's gonna go straight back to the exhaust shop cuz they'll have to pay for it eventually.

if possible get estimates from 2 diff places cuz from experience, ppl/places like this will want more than one estimate cuz they will just think that you went to the most expensive shop you know just to jook them out of some serious cash

I say if someone screws it up, ie a shop, they need to pay for the fix at a premium.

I would have insisted that they brought it to the Honda dealership FIRST.

You didn't crash the car so you're insurace shouldn't have to pay (if they do you're rates will get hiked up) THIER business insurance should pay for it from the shop you chose no where else. If they don't like it then they shouldn't have crashed your car. Maybe they should be more careful.

If I crashed into your car with mine, I (or my insurance) would have to pay for the damages from a body shop you chose, not I choose the crappiest body shop I can find and bring there.

So what difference if the other car is a business instead?

Things don't go they way you like then you can also threaten to contact the Better Business Bureau. (Not too sure if this is the kind of thing they deal with but it's worth looking into)

Good luck

I was just going to say that as well. If you get hassled, goto the Better Business Bureau.

If you're looking for a quality body shop, try a place in Burlington called Casual customs. The two guys that own it are really cool, and they wont let you leave until you are satisfied. They do amazing work, top notch.
