91 Civic hb -> tire size?

Hey guys,

What is the stock size tires on a '91 civic hb? I'm thinking its something along the lines of 175/70/13 but I'm not sure.

Also, other then a stock size, what size is optimal for a winter tire?

Trying to get the gf's car going here, any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

not sure, but nice 'stang

someone'll have you the answer in a short
if i had to hazard a guess tho??
somewhere in the range of 175/85/13 or 175/75/14

keep the winter the same size, whatever it turns out to be..

the stock size depends on the model extension is it an si or cx dx std.
anyways the si is 185/65/14
all others are 185/70/13 or 175/70/13 take your pick
it really doesn't matter to much just stay in that zone and you will be fine.
i would go for some 14 inch. rubber.

Whiplash: thanks man

I've been searching and I think hers came with 13" wheels stock (guess I better find out if thats whats on there still now) since it wasn't the si model (hers is a cx or dx, i forget..).

If they're 13", I'm thinking 175/70/13 (i *think* thats what came stock on the 1.5l) but if they're 14", I'm thinking 185/60/14.

Anyone know?

its a cx/dx.

I'd go with some 14" rubber, but if its 13" now she'll prolly want to stick with that to save money and not get another set of steelies.

Was the 13" 185 or 175 stock? It matters since with a 70 profile, the height of the tire is different and will throw off the speedo....

Thanks,
Chris

at 175 compared to 185 you'll show 98.5kph compared to 100kph Chris..
the difference will be minimal

imo, go with the 185....little better ice contact but still thin enuf to cut thru the snow

just get her to smile nice for the cop

sounds like you'll have to get a visual on what's on it now and go from there....then it's all her fault

just put the 175/70/13's on it there cheap to boot snd that is the correct tire size.
and going up 1 in the tire size really wont affect the speedo at all.
some women worry to much so i understand your dilema.
