not to be a dick... but ou sure you dnt have just a b20? cause mot of those builds are 190+whp.. you would rape one..you should be making even more torque than those too... plus.. your car should be at least 1200lbs ligher... doesn,t make any sense.

I had the car in the corner no problem, but could not get enough speed to even pull next to it in the straights. Have to say I was thoroughly impressed with the pull on that thing. Race suspension and R-compounds and I'd never be able to catch up to the thing, much less pass it.

A road course where the Si's LSD, bigger tires and bigger brakes might have something to do with it. An Si might be the fastest thing out there, but it is a great handling car.
I still think comparing a stock car to a modified one is pointless anyway. Name another car that off the showroom floor is better then an Si. I don't just mean speed either, but the whole package.

A few magazines agree with you, but a few others put the Si on top. The GTI is faster by a tad, but the Si handles better. The Si is cheaper too by around 6-7 g's.
I considered a GTI, but they look abit plain and I'd be too worried about reliability.

the new GTI looks gay... IMO..
the new si looks way better... plus its ahonda... **** wv
i guess the lsd and tires and brakes would really help... but if hey were ona straight oi would assume a b20vtec would pull ahead if they came out of the corner the same...

yeah but think about it,
B20VTEC on a road course making 190+ WHP would be spinning its tires trying to get out of the corner... plus with a light weight car.... you gotta think power to weight ratio.... if the SI has it liek DUMBASS says, LSD, bigger wheels brakes... it juist goes to say out of the box like the ITR its awesome...

you just said power to weight ratio... obviouisly the crx would take it... by sooo much its not even funny...
other than spinning tires to get around a corner... but that's no necessarily true... were talking 190whp here... not 300 whp...

this thread is going no where.
IBTL.
there are good points made from all members.
yes there is no point in comparing a stock car to a modified car.
but for the 30 grand i am paying for a 2006 civic si i can easily import a 1991 honda civic sir from japan in mint condition and add 25 thousand dollars worth of mods into it and easily have a better looking and better handling, better powered, better everything car. and line that car beside the 06 si and drive down the street guess who is getting all the stares.
but then again the si is not modifed but i wouldnt spend another 25 on top of an already overprice car to compete.
i however do think that if both the ef and the fg were to be modified with the same amount of money being spent the ef would be waaaaay faster and better handling.
