I would suspect high 14s and low 15s realistic.....remember the new civics are a lot heavier than a 16 year old civic (with essentially no safety equipment)

Besides the original poster was comparing a swapped Civic to a stock one. I'm sure a turbo or swapped Si would make short work of anything with a B16 in it.
I didnt buy the car because of its speed, or lack thereof compared to other cars. It is a great all-around package. Its the handling that I'm most impressed by.

Considering that Motor Trend said 14.9 and Road & Track said 15.0, (both of which are pretty reputable because they use good drivers and accurate equipment for their tests) I would think it is high 14s-low 15s.
Hard to say exactly because there are so many factors.

the Si motor, has alot more potential with a quality header(DTR or HyTech), Bigger T/B, Some Cams, and Springs and a Reflash(K-Pro)
those boltons can make the car 230whp+

I thought for sure the new si would be quicker than that...
I still like em tho.......so much potential.

Also measured almost the same .84g cornering on cheezy snow tires in my em1 with the gtech pro. Also measured 0-60 times in the mid to high 6seconds....
But then the new SI is heavier....
I expected more of the new si, to be honest.

14s... pssh... i think with all the **** in my 03 civic i run liek 20s or something...dumb heavy chrome rims. they weigh like 80++ lbs each

ya, hasnt anyone really looked at the weight of the car?
its over 3000 lbs with a driver! even a small driver!
for those of us who have been racing hondas for years, we know that weight is everything. though the stock output is fantastic, and the potential for the motor is incredible... the curb weight is what is slowing it down.
a 2000lb b16 EF with 150 whp will take down a 3000lb Si with 200whp by quite a bit. 1000 lb of weight is a HUGE difference. not to bash the new Si, i love it. i want one, but it should not be considered in the class of the weekend racer. as my car sits now it weighs 2600lb with me in it, and i just couldnt go any higher than that.

weight is the biggest problem. the new civics are ugly as hell too so why so much offense taken?
#33
Its still lighter then its main competition the Cobalt SS and a new GTI, which at 3300lbs is a real pig.
It is a heavy car, but all the things Honda has added to it make it heavier then past models. Its not really an econo-box anymore.
Ugly is a relative term. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

The new Si is fun to drive but, by no means fast and shouldn't be looked at as a good competitor stock...on the other hand, who takes a complete stock car to the races? With that in mind, it has a lot of potential but, comparatively speaking with other vehicles of comparable weight, the new Si ranks pretty low.

blah those are stats you are reading....i would love to slap that motor in my SIR!!!
and like someone said, with the some bolt-ons and ecu reflash... im sure that the motor is really underrated!
damn VTEC THUNDER!!!
i should dyno mine... with my bolt-ons im pretty confident i could slap this ride in the 14's
i havent hit the track in over 2 years

true and true!!
but what makes the SI and SIR so awesome is, i didnt have to swap the motor into my car!! HAHAHAHA
from factory baby.... and whats even better is HONDA always made it a 2 year production! Acura on the other hand was different! with the GSR and the R

I run a B20Vtec CRX and ran against a stock 06 Civic Si at a track in Quebec. I had to follow it a few laps and pass in a braking zone. I had the car in the corner no problem, but could not get enough speed to even pull next to it in the straights. Have to say I was thoroughly impressed with the pull on that thing. Race suspension and R-compounds and I'd never be able to catch up to the thing, much less pass it.
