Jacking up a low car

I was wondering how some of you jack up your cars that are too low for a normal jack to get under..
-ive heard of those low profile jacks but their hella exspensive
-know of people who lifted the car then slipped a jack under, kinda dotn wanna give that shot
-or just bring it to a shop?

Drive the tires up on to some 2x8's laying flat, should get you enough to get the jack in place.

I pick it up from the wheel well and then push the jack underneath with my foot

Nice, but the 2x8's are cheaper by a long run..

Wish I had the idea to market those first though

I find anything in my garage that will raise my car enough to get the jack under.
PS they sell the low jacks at Costco for under $100 I believe
