Emissions

I have a '97 EX. It has a valve seal gone and burns oil. Any idea if this might pass emissions? I'm assuming not. Anybody have such luck?

Cheers

I'm in the same boat as the op. I am pretty sure it will mess up your HC score.

My old eg burned a bit of oil but still passed. The HC numbers may have been near the upper limit.

well, i hear it'll be cheaper to replace the engine than to fix the seal, not too mention for one that has lower k's. I'll just go for it. $35.

Thanks guys.

If they physically see you burning oil, they wont even test it

ya, it failed. they said it was most likely the air filter or the 02 sensor.

Probably the filter. would the oil burning contribute to the CO readings?>

anybody?
