The Civic Now Comes With Leather Seats
#21
I agree. But having said that, the big difference (depending on who is buying) is the CSX comes with navi. None of the Civics do. Including the Si. Only the Si in the states comes with Navi. Both CSX and Type S comes with DOHC. One at 155 the other at 197. The Civic except for the Si are all SOHC. The CSX is the same style as the Civic in Japan. So, if there is still a market for it, I think it will stay. Also, why would you redesign a car only to drop it after a year or two. Does not make sense.

Brian...as you yourself said it...perhaps the only distinguishing feature that the CSX now has is the Navi plus the Acura name. buyers are very savvy now...they wont pay $7K more (in case of CTS vs. SI) and over $9K (in case of CTS and EXL) for just that or perhaps not a lot of buyers for Honda to make business sense. A typical new honda civic buyer is a more or less a family person like you and me...so i guess we have alot of other bills to pay first..haha
Whether the CSX stays or not....its only a guess but imo, not a bad one. The price parity difference with US has a major role to play...the SI in US is considerably cheaper than Canada.

What would be good is if we can see what the stats are on the car for sales compaired to the top end 4 door Civics.
If Acura decides to drop it, it will depend on those stats imo. The CSX was made specifically for Canadian consumers. It also brings an entry to the Acura line up that sets up for the TSX.
We will see what they do. Time will tell.

the CSX also has paddle shifters in the automatic...not sure if that is enough for most people to justify the price...but there are definitely still some (small) differentiators...again, not sure if its enough to keep it around...

the si sedan is a much better value than the csx-s in my opinion. leather seats, navi plus the acura label is not worth the extra $7K difference. thats all that is different b/w the two.
damn...i might buy the si sedan next year :-)
