use the clay bar like everybody else says... it will work wonders... but just make sure your car is washed... and dont drop the clay... contaminated clay can ruin the finish... you can also try spraying some paint safe bug/tar remover.. if all this doesn't work... why not try taking a hair dryer to it... heat it up and gently spend time taking it off...

Isopropyl Alcohol - Spray the area or dab it with a cotton swap and let it soak. Keep adding it when it evaporates and gently wipe away with a microfiber towel. I removed about 40 hardened tree sap spots using this method. For the more difficult ones I used a steamer to soften them and then used the IPA.

To add, using clay bar won't help in this case very much. You need a chemical to do the work. Clay bar may damage the finish if there are other particulates in the sap which often is the case.

To add again (no editing feature lol), after you remove the tree sap, you may notice that there is an outline on the paint of where the sap was. Try a paint cleaner or cleaner wax and see if it will come out. If not, the sap has etched an outline into the paint and needs to be polished out, or wetsanded in severe cases.

try a mixture of white vinegar dilluted with water in a spray bottle, spray it on wait 5-10 seconds, wipe off with a microfiber towel.

If goo gone doesnt work buy hand compound or swirl remover.. even paint cleaner should do the trick. If the sap is engrained into the clear you will need to use a mile compound to remove a minute layer of the clear and restore the finish.
