97 Acura EL shift kit?
#3
You can adjust shift points in OBD I and 2 1996 vehicles with a valve train level 1 or 2 PTS shift kit and torque converter.. or like in my integra with larger clutch plates and modified shift points along with manual shift control which stops the computer TCM from shifting automatically you can control it. I also have a high stall 2800 converter however the downside is hard shifts and problems during cold weather with frequent tranny fluid changes required. I would not reccomend for daily driving.
However the tranny on the 1.6 EL/Civic post 98 is primarily electronically controlled and here is currently nothing on the market available 'out of box' to do this.. There is a system that splitfire performance manipulates which can be used on any car however this is costly and probably not worth it.. you are better off with a manual swap..
If it peaks your interest you can visit Level 10 Performance Transmission Systems Bulletproof Transmissions,Supercharger

Good luck
