alright i got a 2001 b20z motor and i was wondering if the s80 tranny is the right tranny?
and i dunno what the s80 tranny comes out of?

What do you mean by the right tranny? Yes it will bolt up, and no that's not the transmission it should have on it since b20 is out of crv and its either a all wheel drive transmission or the auto fwd one. Now yes the s80 will bolt on and work well.

If its a b16 transmission or gsr transmission, you will be loving life. Itr transmission not so much simply because of the very short gear ratio and low redline of b20. On the other hand it could be ls which will make you slower yet you will save some fuel due to long gear ratio.

Take the cover off, count the ring gear teeth. Or just slap it on and you'll find out what you have after your first drive down the hwy.

SiR and USDM ITR have exactly the same gear ratios including the 4.4 final drive.

JDM ITR is also the same as SiR and USDM ITR from 1st to 3rd, but has 4th and 5th gear from GSR to compensate for highway driving because of its 4.7 final drive.

By JDM ITR, i mean the 98-01 JDM ITR transmission (in reference to the different gear ratios and final drive). The ones before that are the same as an SiR or USDM ITR.

I had an S80, it was from a JDM Type-R 97 (B18C). I enjoyed it very much.

+1 for buying, if reasonably priced. It will bolt up to a B20, if that B20 isn't in a CR-V =]
