Hey gents, just curious if on the 2005 Civic (the 2001-2005 generation), whether changing the automatic transmission fluid is the exact same process as the 1996-2000 models (i.e. same drain plug where you stick the 3/8" drive in)?

Thanks in advance. I got the Honda ATF ready and just wanted a confirm before I get under there since you never know with these newer cars.

that only removes a certain amount from the transmission, you need to get it properly flushed to have each gear cleared of old fluids and to ahve all new fluid in it.

Should be the same location. May have been moved over a quarter of an inch left or right but generally the same place

I've never heard of that. May be true in the newer vehicles, though. I would think if the transmission had a filter, like GM or Ford, then you shouldn't do a drain and fill. However, I don't think ANY hondas do that, so a drain and fill should be okay.
