hello every1 i need a new tranny i'm contemplating about getting a jdm tranny or a rebuild. I have an 02 accord my mechanic said to me that jdm trannys are **** and give u problems very quick compared to rebuilds. Does anyone know anything about JDM auto trannys? i'd like to rebuild but it's 1600$ it's to steep for me now considering i dropped 4grand on the car. What would u guys recommend me to? a jdm tranny is about 400+ labour which will total to about 800. Has anyone had an auto tranny swapped and has had bad results?

You get what you pay for.

If you pick up a used/jdm transmission you really have no clue what condition it's really in. It could last a week, a year or 20 years.

Now if you rebuild your transmission you know that your transmission is now most likely going to last the lifetime of the vehicle.
