^^When you're in a collision with another party, don't you have to exchange info like licence and insurance? Since you didn't have any, wouldn't the other driver report you to police? Must've been in a bad accident to total your car, so which I predict is probably over $5000. Shouldn't the police be involved to take down the report for insurance purposes? ^^

I didn't call the cops at the time, cause I was 16 and very nervous. The other guy was obviously some drunk immigrant who totally didnt speak english. But he kept saying " plz plz...i pay i pay". I felt bad, told him to follow me to a body shop. He went w/me. He pays with credit card. 1 hour later, the credit card bounced. Then i said **** it, i called the cops rite away. The cops gave me a hard time for not reporting him. They were accusing me and sayin that its a crime to let some1 go who has no liscence or insurance and we can do some damage to you if we want. i didnt say anything, and they let me go. However they told me, that I don't even need a report, and that since he has no liscence or insurance, he is automatically at fault.

Thanks Pimpin-EL, but I was refering the question to Fr0z3N when he said he was driving around for a week w/o insurance and some guy totaled his car.

ya i know, but i was juss telling you what the cops told me in my situation. I have no clue how the legal system works tho...since cops always say different things....its all bout their mood...
