Who do I have to KILL FOR insurance?

lol i hope this doesn't get locked because of the title... just a saying you know...

Anyways, here's my situation... Yes many of you will say i'm "one of those retarded teenager kids blah blah blah" but honestly... i just love driving and love working on cars.... etc

So, I'm still in highschool, just turned 18, finishing last year... maybe i'll do one more year due to financial situation. Anyhow, I started night school, which forced me to quit my job couple months ago.... Now i have no solid income, i couldnt pay 450 bucks a month for insurance... so the car's just sitting doing diddley...

I even tried offering belair to use my sides and back as advertising space lol.... didn't work... I'm going to ask Geico to put their adorable creature (w.e it is... iguana probably...) on the back bumper giving thumbs up with the cartoonish box with "I switched to geico and saved blah blah blah"

Honestly... I have not asked my parents for anything since i got my first job and would like to keep it that way so asking parents like a kid is out of question... Does anyone know about any situation where that actually worked? (ad space) because i see bunch of company cars offered by various companies... they pay for your gas... etc but gas is now just as much as insurance... isn't it? well 450 was premium so i guess it could be a bit lower...

If you got any suggestoins let me know... maybe someone owns a local business and need advertisement? lol i'm just dying to drive, last summer alone... i drove 19,000km... and please... don't call me a stupid kid...
thanks all for reading my chit chat

Call 'em up. I doubt they'll be interested, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Time to go on the welfare.

But seriously, it may be time for you to bite the bullet and take the bus for a while. You don't need to sell the car, just keep it un-insured, and store it. You can still work on it, restore it, detail it, etc. Then when you do get a steady source of income, that allows for you to pay insurance and gas, you can start driving the car again.

Well, all you want to do is drive, right? Can't you get the car under your parents name as a secondary driver? That should save you money. I owned a car since I was 21 and was doing that until I turned 25.

i paid 350 ish back when i was 18/19... for my eg hatch...

450 is alot but i had discounts cuz of school/multiple policies etc... that's the way life goes... it really does suck... if you can't afford it then you can't... i'm glad to see you're not one of those that just drives around anyways even though they're not insured...

either get a job that lets you work weekends, or take the bus for a while till you get a job that gives you an income again... it sucks but what can you do?

we all have to make sacrifices at one time or another

I'm shocked at rates some people get these days. Even when I was 16, my premium was only 350 max.

Bro, i pay 270 a month at bel air for my eg hatch. i'm a first year college student, that is why my rate is probably lower than everyone elses. Every other company i tried, like RBC and Statefarm, were 450 a month. I think bel air is the best your gonna get, unless you go secondary driver?

Coming from one of the idiots who droves without insurance, that's all it takes... that 1 day that 1 mistake.... I drove without insurance for 1 week.... 1 measly week and BANG totaled my car.... the guy who hit me was deemed at fault, thank god, otherwise I'd be screwed, well technically I did get screwed, I lost my car I have whats left of it sitting in my driveway, but atleast I'm not getting sued or anything like that. You won't catch me thoughtlessly driving without insurance ever again.
