traffic ticket trouble

Last night I was coming home late and turned left from avenue onto eglinton. Apparently, there is no left turning there. There were no cars and it was 2 in the morning so I never noticed the sign.

I got a ticket for "turning onto a street contrary to sign", amounting to $90 set fine $110 total.

Does this ticket cost me any points or is it JUST a fine?
Will this affect my insurance now or in the future?

any input would be nice.thanks

it will affect insurance in the future when you renew .. it's a moving violation .... as for points not sure on that look at the xcopper website they have all the offenses that points are attached to ... either way go to court and try to get it reduced ...if thats possible might as well make the government prosecute you...

got the post in before it got moved

I found out that improper turns are 2 points.

I can't stand the fact that my insurance will go up(probably astronomical amounts)just cuz of this one dumb ticket.

I think I am gonna fight it, but should I plead guilty and ask for lesser fine or get a representative? those are my two options.

insurance man is getting back to me

Well, gatherer is right, it will effect your isnurance as it is a moving violation ....IF you plead to a lesser fine, the charge itself will still be on your MVR so your insurance company wil still raise your rates .... I would get a representative's opinion to see if you can fight the whole charge and have it wiped off your record ...
