Speed trap, got busted....
As stated in the subject i got busted in a speed trap on Allen Rd (between eglinton and 401). This is the second time that i've seen a trap there. for all those in the area its right where the lawrence exit is.
Now i've just got a few questions. if you can help, thanks a bunch, if you cant, thanks a bunch.
1) What should i do? fight it? or guilty w/ explanation?
2) The set fine is $87.50 but it says total payable is $107.50
this is due to some 'costs and applicable victim fine surcharge'
what exactly is that costs and victim surcharge BS?!?!? What just cuz you get caught they can gouge extra $$$ from you?!!?!
he said i was doing 102 in an 80 zone.
how many pts am i looking at here?
any help is greatly appreciated

Fight it tooth and nail.!!!!!
Anything more than 15km over the speed limit you get points.
And ANY, I can't stress this enough, ANY SPEEDING TICKET will show up on your driving history for a period of time. Whether you were 5km over or 50km over. Although I've heard most insurance companies let 1 MINOR ticket slide I can't verify this. In your case 20 over is not minor. So, fight it!
Get X-copper or whatever. But tell them you will only pay them if they win your case. Don't pay upfront . If they lose that means you lose big time. Not only will you have paid for representation but you would have to pay the ticket plus a guilty fee of some sort.
Good luck.

not just allen either...its any street that has enough shoulder room or even an empty section of parking space on the street for cops to pull you over .
my bro got bit on ossington just north of college. they were hiding in a lane way just behind a bush. lucky for him it was just 15 over.
this is advice to everyone if its nice out going the speed limit i know i will from now on or at least try real hard.
