no front license plate fine?
I recieved a ticket today of 110 for not having my front plate on, is this something that will affect my insurance, like a speeding ticket would? or do these things not go on your record?

and don't just pay it go to first attendance and then go to court, that way you have a chance of it getting reduced, and mabye dropped if the cop doesn't show up, unless you have $110 to burn but even then i don't see the point of giving the gov't more of your hard earned money...

It's not a permanent thing, no. No worries on the insurance. Pay the fine, that's it amigo. I got pulled over for no front plate before, twice. No tickets though, only because i had the plate in my window. As long as the front plate is visible, it doesn't have to be "on" you're car. By on i mean, bolted on. How come you're ridin with 1 plate dawgg?

your wrong.... I got numerous tickets for this and I faught them all. The only one I ended up paying was in elmvale because the judge was an old bag that doesn't like teenagers. Plus the cop liked to make sure he added that the plate was on the dash which could have caused it to become a projectile if the car was to get into an accident and chop off my passengers neck.
I ended paying $75 for that one.
All the others got thrown out cuz I put up a petty excuse that it fell off on the highway 5mins before I got the ticket.

believe it or not i got 3 tickets in a week for having my front plate in the window...i went for first attendance for all of them and ended up paying like $70 combined for all 3...
one time before that tho i had my front plate in the window and my rear plate was covered by my countries flag...(we were celebrating after yugoslavia won the world basketball championships)...i got pulled over and got 2 tickets for not having my front and back plates properly displayed haha...again i fought them like everything else...im a pro by now!

I apologize for being "wrong" I live in downtown Toronto, and i have learned that the cops are alot more lenient when they choose to be. Anyhow, i suppose both of those cops lied to me.. and they don't know the law? Both said that the law states that you must have 2 showing plates. 1 for the front & 1 for the back. Nowhere in that law, does it state that you're plate must be bolted on. Please, don't shoot the messenger, i'm just relayin information that i recieved after being pulled over for the cause. To the original poster, i agree with the others on fighting it, unless of course money ain't a thang. In the case of being poor, like me, go in there and fight for you're life. Cheat, lie, kill, pillage, do it all.

never have the plate in the window, ur better off not having it at all...if u have it in the window its like u know its wrong but u wanna make it "right" and when u have no front plate at all the car looks like an american car and u dont generally get hassled...but its all about the lost plate excuse, "fell off and I'm waiting for my replacement"

really for $110 ticket plus all the hassle, why not just do as the law says? esp on a Civic, whch already has bolts moulded in anyways so it's not like you're getting some super clean look by not having a plate. more and more I see other cars without front plates.... Explorers, Cavaliers, Neons, etc... IMO it's ghay. It's like shoulder/seatbelt pads used to be 'cool' in the mid 90s.
