Insurance Question???

In our household We have 2 vehicles . A 1993 minivan and the 99 civic sedan. If I were to buy a car lets say a 92-95 hatch, lets say 1993 and put it under my parents name how much would the insurance be per month. Currnetly the van is under my dads name and the civic is under my mom and dads name. Will it be possible to put me a occasional driver on the 93 civic. I have my G license also.

thanks

it depends, but insuranceman will help you more. are you the only licenced drivers? i maen you, ur dad and mom? if you are than it wouldn't be possible b-cuz that means that you have access to a car no matter what so therefore primiums will be kinda high, but if you have a sister/brother in your family as well whom also have licence than it will be a little different, and it will help if your over 25 or either of your borther/sister is over 25 as well.
but i'm sure insurance man will help you out with this.. but that is much as i know.

If there's 3 car's and 3 lic. people in the house than a car goes under each person's name. If there's someone else with a lic and more year's experience then you it more than likely will be cheaper for you to put it a car under their name and you be an occasional driver.

you cannot have 3 people in the home, 3 cars, and have the same person one or more vehicles as the rpimary driver ------ I mean insurance companies are not run by the smartest people in the wolrd but they can put 2 and 2 together and see that you are the primary driver of at least one of those vehicles --- My advice would to be put down as the primary driver of the vehicle you pay the least amount of insurance on ---- Most likely the van

I'm 18 G license clean record. 92 civic hatch/
What can I expect to pay under my name by myself or w/parents?
Can I insure the car for the summer only and call it a "project car"? I've heard that you can only insure for a yr.

I've never heard of insuring something as a project car... if you were to get insurance on your own, you would pay quite a bit I believe just because of your age ---- But if you get it under your parents you would have to make sure that the car is registered in their name .... you can't insure somehting you don't own ....I can give you the name of some brokers in your area if you let me know where you live

I have paid monthly for the last 6 years, so I know you can however I think I pay a little more because of this.

I'm with State Farm and recently purchased a second car for daily driving and my civic has now become a weekend driver. I used to pay $160 a month for full coverage under my own name with no accidents/tickets on just my civic. Since I purchased the second car they classified my civic as a pleasure vehicle and now I only pay $190/month for 2 cars.

Who said insurance is expensive? If you stay out of trouble and have good standing with a insurance company it's not to bad!

What is going on with insurnce ????" I called State Farm today and they said they are not taking any new applicants. So I went to allstate they said 760$ a month what is up with that?

In our house there are 3 cars 3 drivers.
Is this quote of 760$ accurate?

$760 a month for all 3 or for one ... if its all three, then that sounds about right .... the market is "hardening" which means that insurance companies are beginning to accept less and less people becuase that increases their amount of risk.... my suggestion to you is stay where you are and wait until the economy becomes better to switch .... cause right now is about the worse time to be shopping for insurance
