things that will help drop your insurance are:

-married status
-age 21, then age 25
-driving school will do basically nothing for you
-how many years you've had your g2 (3 years or over will drop rates)

someone mensioned putting the car under your parents name. that is your best option at your age and driving experience. good luck and be patient in time your rates will drop. just do not get any major convictions or they will haunt you for a long time.

good luck

I'm 20, with belair direct got a 96civic dx, had one major accident wrote off a vehicle, and got a minor ticket for that accident as well, and I'm only payin $250($254.10 to be exact) a month, said about 10-15,000km/year, they don't do the discount at 21, as new statistics show that males, and females under the age of 21 are just as likely to get in accidents as those who are 21-25, but then you get the break at 25, if you're an honor roll student, or going to university you will get more of a discount, which come september and I'm headin to Uni, it should drop about 15%

Also forgot to mention, comprehensive included $500 deductible, basic $1Million PL/PD, so they start you at a rate lower then other companies who wait til ur 21, cause of the new statistics they said, and from shoppin around, they were a good $130-180 less per month then any other company at least for me anyways.

ye, it would be like using the life expectancy statistics from 20years ago, and saying its been the same, if thats all you use for 20years then thats the only numbers you have for that 20years, NEW STATISTICS, show that there is not the same correlation as their used to be, not a hard concept to grasp...

you can try belairdirect.com might be cheaper but it is going to hurth that your 18 and in a city! but 300 a month is a little high I paid around 230ish for my 05 ranger with 300, 500, and 1,000,000 when I was 21, that was through a local company though....I pay 160ish for my 96 civic EK HB now though same coverage at 23, give it some time the price will go down!.....hahaha just dont ask girls what they pay its a lot less then guys!
