My friend just got a ticket yesterday for $250 for having white signal blinkers!! I thought they were legal since I saw so much cars have it.. can someone verify this? I was thinking about changing my signal lights to white to before this incident happended.

It's kinda like changing your brakes lights from red to blue,

It's listed in the HTA also I think there was post a few yrs ago regarding lights, & colours, etc. However I'm too lazy right now to pull that link for you.

tell him to put amber lights in there and show the pics on the court day and pray that the officer will drop the charge.

But my friend was told white or amber were the legal colours...

It Falls within a grey area in the highway traffic act. From my understanding it has to do with the visibilty fo the light and not the colour. Lights facing forward must white to amber in colour.

"Turn Signals - Red, Amber or White is LEGAL. Nowhere in the HTA does it state that turn signals can ONLY be red and amber. The HTA does state however that intermittent (regular intervals) of blue light flashing are illegal since they can only be used on snow-removal trucks). Red light in front is also illegal unless you are driving a government-operated vehicle (i.e. Ambulance, Police Vehicle). Green flashing is illegal too."

the ones i have r like really bright white there were called like xenon white soemthing like that i got them from the states as i kow now that they dont sell em no more
