the only thing false on there is the thing about speed tickets.... if you get one speeding ticket your rates are going to go up... probably 40000% too

PID, actually my friend got a speeding ticket and went to court and they reduced it from a major to a minor and the insurance company let it slide, they because it was his first infraction and it was because it was a minor even if it was speeding.

-> i always thought that, 2/4 door made a difference in rates and also color.
hmm..guess i was wrong..

some insurance companies do charge more for a "flashier" colour. i know for a fact because my buddy's insurance would have been lower on his teg if it wasn't red. the insurance company told him this.

as for the 2-4 door thing, most 2 doors are more expensive cause who would steal for example a civic sedan when they can steal a sir. i know which one i would take if i stole cars. ( which i don't )

I have had 4 different insurance companies and none ever asked the color of my car so im not sure where that came from, about the 2-4 doors, 2 doors are always more on insurance b/c they clasify it as "sporty" so that's bs aswell and when I got my first ticket for speeding years back for 18 over my insurance increased so that's bs too.

every company is different...yoiu cant generalize insurance policys... Things like colour of car, speeding raising rates..they all very from one company to the other... for instance, I got a speeding ticket, andy my rates didnt go up the next year, cuz they let the first one slide.... and they also told me it didnt matter about points or not... they based it on a per infraction basis..

I used to be with Cogeco and I was talking to a nice lady there one day and I asked her the question about red cars and she told me that they tended to have higher insurance rates b/c they were easier to see by cops when they were speeding.

Makes sense, but don't know if it was 100% sure (although I am sure that there is at least some truth behind it but it'd also have to go with yellow too!)
