So you didn't just drive without insurance, but you also took the plates off another car and stuck it on the Civic? It just gets better and better....

Do you understand the meaning of "deliberately-done and overtly-illegal acts"? And you're wondering why the cop was aggressive?

When plates don't match, that's often the sign of a stolen car. It's often a sign of a car that's been boosted to commit another criminal act, and often one involving violence. When a cop notices that plate-to-car discrepancy, it tends to make the hair on the back of their neck stand on end...

looks like your uncle is screwed!

S.W.A.P.

- no insurance and wrong plates so what are you bitchin about?

"seems like we were criminals"

You were breaking the HTA.

"The cops were disrespectful...And aggressive."

"The police was verbally abusive...Even when my uncle was complying...and told the truth...They kinda interogated him to say what they wanted to hear... "

That line is usually a winers last attempt to make themselves look good. Bring that up in court and it's basicly your word against his. Of course the judge will mostly likely take the cops side since you'll basicly say anything to get out of the ticket.

Now what would you've done if your uncle hit another vehicle? You and your uncle would be crap dinner & cheese broke until you die.

Time to ressurect the old thread.

My uncle went to court today.

End result? 100 dollar fine and...

A criminal record (first in his lifetime) saying that he drove without a license.

So there's a good side to it and a bad side.

Does this go away after a few years? Or is it there for life?

Criminal Record for that? OUCH!! It does not go away until you turn 85 years old or something like that, if I remember correctly. He can apply for a pardon after 3 years...which removes the conviction off his record.
