Question Help diagnosing excess wheel hop

I just did a LOT of work on my car.I rebuilt the motor, new clutch, rebuilt the trans.
SiR Rear disc conversion, prop valve and Master cylinder
I installed the JRSC kit @ 6psi on the d16y8
new bushings on the rear
The car is a '98 Acura EL
The car currently has mystery springs (bought it lowered)
The shocks look original 215,000 kms on car
There is now some mystery fluid on my drivers side tower to headlamp.
There is no leak in my power steering system, as far as I know cruise control
systems have zero fluid in the bellows. I don't think honda used hydraulically
dampened engine mounts either.
Only the driver side wheel is doing it, it makes a scary klunk klunk metal noise when launching semi-hard. Also the car seems to raise up on the drivers front about 2-3 inches higher consistently with the noise. The noise is not there while driving or regular engagement of 1st gear.
I have checked
the axle (nut hasn't moved)
took the wheel off and tried to move the hub with no luck
the ball joints where replaced within a year and a half and look good
The car imho failed the bounce test, but not like a piece of jello
no missing hardware or broken swaybar endlinks

k first of all, you do have hydraulic mounts and you're right, there is no cruise control fluid.

What I would do is put the car in gear, e-brake off. Pop the hood and rock the car back and fourth.. look at the motor and look to see if its rocking back and fourth excessively. There will be SOME movement (depending on how hard you rock it) but not alot whatsoever. If there is a lot of movement you got a bad mount somewhere.

Really, that mount has fluid in it? If thats the case then that is most likely it.

I poked the rubber bladder (I guess that is what it would be) that the upper engine mount sits on, and it didn't seem too soft, actually kind of stiff. But there was fluid all around it. I could not figure where it was from, and it sure as hell was not oil, ps fluid, Brake fluid or kicked up CV grease.

Where in the factory service manual does it have the engine mount check. I have both the EL and Civic ones and I am having difficultly locating a factory mount assessment.

btw, Thank you for your help so far.

on a civic the mounts are mechanical, the inspection is visual. chris' method helps the untrained eye. just do it and report back.

I ripped that annoying driver side mount, replaced it.. and ripped it to shreds again.

You may want to look into this

http://www.innovativemounts.com/Show...?prodid=B10010

I used avid for all of the other mounts, including the lower torque mounts.. which are also very weak.

The Pros- The motor does not move at all.

The Cons-Alot of Vibration.

Its up to you, if you are willing to sacrifice some comfort for the peace of mind knowing that your motor is solid.

You will probably want to invest in some traction bars.
