With coil overs you can adjust the ride height. DO NOT CHEAP OUT. Get yourself a decent set up. PIC's are nice. What is your budget?

Pic/skunk2/function and form/tein. All those will cost about 600-700used and 1200+new.
You can get the cheap coilover sleeves but they are complete garbage. I have em and honestly the ride is crap, and if you use stock struts they will blow out quick.
You could also buy some aftermarket struts and lowering springs. Would be cheaper but would not be able to adjust the ride height.

I guess what we need to know to help you out is the budget and how low do you wanna go?

definately don't cheap out on suspension.

Don't put cheap coilover sleeves on stock shocks as the ride will be crap and the shocks will blow within months.

Expect to need new bushings/bolts in the rear as the shocks usually seize to the lower control arms on those year civics.

If you go any lower than 2" you'll need a camber kit to get your alignment back into spec.
