Whatever you do, please do not cheap out on the suspension. My vote goes for a good set of coilovers but that's me.

Would help if you gave us a price range and what you're willing to spend plus are you installing them yourself or not?

i had neuspeed sports and tokico d-specs. great setup and less hassle than doing koni shocks.

I would SAy Tokico D SPEC w/ tein s tech is your best bet. but if you want more agressive go for FULL COIL...(MEGAN OR TEINs)

Hey Y:L,

I also have a 2001 Si coupe. I bought it in Aug 2005 with 78K on the ODO. I now have 137K. I'm riding on a stock suspension - it's been garbage since purchase of the car.... I swear it's been hard and terrible ever since I bought it. Honda Dealer admits that suspension rides very hard - too hard. They say nothing seems wrong, it was just designed that way. (Even for an Si, it's too hard, but not in a good way...)

Has any other 2001 Si owner come across a bad stock suspension?

That sounds odd, my dad has an '01 si and the stock suspension was always smooth. It's rolling on eibachs with tokicos and rides very nice.

i have an 03 si coupe and for 03 they used different mcphearson struts at the front. for me the car rides a little too soft. i know someone who has tokico d-specs and they're more then happy with them. only advantage of the d-specs over the koni's is you odn't have to use your stock strut....but for the price of either rather get coil overs.

just so you know for the 01-02 civics the warranty on the front struts was extended to 160000km's because the seals have a tendancy to leek

Yes, they made adjustments for 2003 - lucky for people who bought '03 & up! My seals haven't been leaking. I had them checked more than once since I bought the car in '05. My susp. is terrible... It literally feels like I have no suspension at all. I drive down my street and every crack can be felt. Bigger crask & crags actually feel like the whole front end hitting... They REALLY screwed up the 01's & 02's... I have a friend who now can get me parts at cost and will help me change the whole susp. for free at the garage where he works I'm wondering if it'll help. Another guy told me that no matter what it will always feel overly hard, something to do with the angle of design...
