checking check engine ligh

checking check engine ligh
ok got a check engine ligh on a 96 honda civic and icouldnt find a green pin under the glove box .. Now how would i check the to see what the code is? I know the older civic and tegs have on the ecu the codes and the 92-95 civics have the green pin under the glove box.. Help me out thnx

take out the kick panel.. its not under the glove box (well it is.. kinda i suppose)
