What is a good quality pager alarm

I'm in the market for an alarm, and want a pager , i heard the range on all apger alarms is no good if youre behind walls, so whats the point of one exactly? does anyone have one and are you happy with them? and is the clifford pager system worth spending 500 bux on?

Exactly in the order that scarlemthug posted.

I had a compustar AS2000 and it was great! over 1 mile range! $200 at Dr. Fleas. Probably cheaper now...

Recently upgraded to CompuStar 2WFM pager alarm. Car still gets signal from about 1 minute to 2 minute walking distance (where my office and parking lot distance is about). The car is behind an office building, over trees, roads that has cars passing by all the time, and my office walls.

It claims to have 1000 feet distance. I have yet to try that but so far, it is a nice alarm. Worth every penny.
