just plays by itself i said pounding cause it is giving me a headache sorry. It plays by itself like a constant beat even when the music is all the way down to zero same volume all the time, it was working fine like a day ago, know i have no clue unplugged it plugged it back up, fuse is good in the amp, i don't think the sub is blown cause when the sub is normally blown it kind of has a rattle to it and sounds like crap mine is still good but i just can't put my finger on it i dunnno???

Does it work properly when you turn the volume up? Maybe your gains are too high?

sounds like noise...

I heard this in another persons car, had a bad noise problem. Does it happem when the car is on or off or both? His was alt whine and the sub made a flubbing sound when the noise was around.

no, even with the gains way down same problem i 'm thinking its the amp cause it did the same thing with another speaker. i'm no car audio expert but i don't see how this could happen or what happen exactly. I mean it's only one 12" Mtx and the Legacy amp is rated for 600 watts max, it was working fine for the last few days just now something happen not sure what and i can't figure it out some help audio experts please thanks.

Yes they are

but you dont need a deck with sub control, you can buy a external crossover with a sub level control on it (thats what I have) so my 3 sets of outputs on my deck are useless lol, since I only use 1.

Did your friend have the volume pumped alot? Underpowering is fine as long as you dont clip the signal. What alot of people do is use a smaller amp than reccomended and turn up the gain to compensate for the small wattage output... then they crank the head unit and dont realise that there killing the sub with the clipped signal because the sub cant disipate the heat fast enough.

So the sub dies (well the voice coil usualy does) but Infinity Perfect subs (the older gens) are prone to spider seperation im pretty sure it was a flaw.. they blew easy.

well this amp wasn't mine anyway but i will try and hook up the sub to another amp and see what happens. What size of amp should i get for this 12" mtx sub and what brand?? I am picking up a 4 guage wire on the weekend probably i currently have a 6 awg. I was thinking a US amp but they are very pricey, my buddy has an alpine v12 and his pounds solid he only has two 8" subs on that. So many choices what to do ??

match the subs rms to the amp.

if the subs is 4 ohms and 150 watt rms, and you plan to run 1 sub, get a amp that does at leats 150 watt rms at 4 ohm mono.

you might just be picking up static through your rca's
if they've got a break in the coating...or if you're running
the rca's along side your power wire and/or remote wire
...
question of my own:

how do i stop the pop from the sub when i turn my HU off?
better ground?

Does it pop when you turn it off as well? There is delay circuits you can buy that eliminate the pop by delaying the turn on of the amp a few extra seconds after the head unit turns on.
