steering wheel

I drive a 93 CX hatch and I need to extend the steering wheel 1 to 2 inches forward from it's current location.

what would be my options?

How about moving the seat forward?? Look, telescopic steering was not available on the Civic, ever. Just Taurus and some VWs. So this is not a simple bolt in. There are various hubs for steering wheels, but I doubt that these would solve your problem. IMO, this can not safely be done....

I agree move your seat forward

Unless you're deformed some how and were born with long legs, and short stubby arms. The seating configuration works for the majority of the population.

ok let me try to explain this ... I need to move the steering wheel 1 to 2 inches towards the drivers seat... reason why is currently to have my arms at a comfortable lenght from the steering wheel my legs would be cramped... therefore if I extend the wheel 1 to 2 inches from it's current place I can move the seat back and my legs would be in a better position.. I don't need to have the wheel telescope just a permentant extension out 2 inches from it's current place

I'm 5foot 11inches.... I know thats an average hieght but for some reason I can't get the driver seat positioned prefectly ... moving the steering wheel seems to be the best solution.

Unfortunately, not doable safely like I said before. I'm 6 ft. Maybe your seat is reclined too far back, so your arms are stretched out. The perfect position is to be able to push with your left foot on the foot rest and lock yourself into your seat when cornering, and have your arms at a 90 degree angle from the steering wheel. Actually, changing your seat might work too...after I changed to Sparcos I sit a lot closer to the wheel, in perfect driving position. The car makes me feel tiny cuz I sit so low.

well the seat is not reclined at all ( if it was holding onto the wheel would be a problem) maybe I'll look into new seats then.

ok if I get a momo steering wheel would their need to be an adapter for it and if so would the adapter extend the wheel past the OEM location? (yes I'm still on this topic ...although seats would be nice I'm looking at all options)

No, it will stay in the same location. The momo wheel is a thin unit, about 3/4 to 1 inch total, whereas the stock one is with an airbag, so it's like 4-5 inches thick. So with the adapter, it ends up the same... and no, you can't use a momo adapter under a stock steering wheel either, though that's ideally what you'd like to do.
