short shifter

I am interested in buying a short shifter for my 99 Civic SIR.
I narrowed the choices down between DC Sport and B&M.

Also, is the shifter easy to install???

Thanks for suggestions and instructions.

I have a B&M Edge, very very nice. Solid, positive feel, and nice polished finish. Upgrade the bushings at the same time too. The install is straight forward, though a little cramped between the floorboards and the exhaust.

Thanks bbarbulo, how much did you pay for the shifter?
The price I got for the B&M including bushing is $235 CDN.

That's an outrageous price... highway robbery... ***-rape, call it what you will. I got my hookups at optauto.com I buy everything from them. Fantastic service. However, they use UPS which is pricey to ship to canada. Find a place that's willing to ship USPS, and you are in the money. With the CDN dollar the way it is, I'm ordering many many parts from the states now.

I had mine bought for like 60 bucks, then installed for 60 bucks... some cheap no name brand (I didn't know jack) and the damn thing vibrates faster then your regular *****... so freaking noisy and I hate it.

I should have had it done right the first time... I am looking into a better replacement.

Bbarb, can you change the short shift yourself? If so, do you have to jack up the car or you can do everything from within?

Is your short shift the race version? I checked out optauto.com and it is for 135, USD I assume.

I did mine myself, but then agian I do everything myself on the car. Mine is a B&M Edge...

You jack the car up, remove the center console inside, and you MAY have to loosen the exhaust to gain clearance. Remove the linkage, change out the bushings with some Energy Susp ones, and slip out the old, bolt in the new, and voila fresh short shifter.

I just purchased a Skunk2 with the shift ****, yes its expensive, but I don't regret it at all. Very solid, never heard of them being snapped(I heard of many DC's being snapped) Very short and tight, excellent feel. All in all great purchase, install is easy.

I bought mine from SW20 MR2 from this board, excellent guy and service ordered it over e-mail came in 2 days later!

PM me with the info on how much you paid. I'm interested in the Skunk 2 myself.
