power windows on 98 Si

power windows on 98 Si

IS anyone else out there having trouble with their power windows for the 98 Civic SI! it takes like 40 secs to roll the windows down and almost a min to close the window! in the winter its' worst after i got to drive thru, it sometime needs help going up!!

97 si and mine started the same way as your's.. but now mine comes off its track all the time and doesnt close all the way.... i changed the bolts that hold the track in place put vasoline on the rubber so it slides better... nothing works... startin to really **** me off...

basic maintenance helps

my 86 prelude power windows close better than yours just cuz I gave them a little love.

this seems to be a problem with the 96 -98 civics only! don't seem to be a problem with other hondas!!

my buddy's 5th gen accord is starting this ... i think it does need some love ... maybe lube ... kyb jelly n e 1 ? lol

I had the exact same problem with my power windows about 2 weeks ago. I'm sure the cold weather is the main cause as well. Just be glad that your window is still on it's rail.

What you need is silicone spray. Something like this:






You can get it from CT or Walmart
(not Amsoil but other brands)

it's no only on 96-98 honda civics, i have a 99 that has teh same problem on one of the windows

And don't use WD40.

It will make it worse.
