Windows XP or Windows Vista Ulitimate Edition
Just wondering what you guys think of removing Windows XP and put Windows Vista Ulitimate Edition on your home PC? I have Vista but debating whether or not to put it on. I currently don't have any issues with my win XP but afraid a bunch load of problems will occur with Vista. But Vista looks cool Any thoughts/suggestions??
thanks

the big issue is driver support....if your using slightly older hardware I'd do a lot of research before...even add-ons like printers are big issues...someone I know uses Vista business at work and they had an HP printer, went to the HP website, they just said they don't have a Vista driver out, and there was no release schedule...
If all your hardware is compatible, might as well upgrade, personally I didn't find Vista all that amazing, but some features are nice (nothing revolutionary though....

Just google and see the results. It's been compared to Windows ME. The sales of Vista also have been hurting, I'd stay XP for the time being until a service pack or two come out.

I love vista, get X64 if you have a 64bit cpu, and if you have ddr2 grab another 2gb of ram, its ilke $70 now for the ram =)
Im running X64 ultimate now, love it, much better, and even faster then xp
most of the driver issues are with older printers cameras etc, ceck that then you are good to go =)

i remember when XP dropped everyone was saying the same thing .... XP didnt support most hardware ... and all new hardware was being made to be compatible with XP as of when it was released .... sooooo just give it time and stop crying .. im sure by next year this time we will all be pushin VISTA ..

I recommend a slightly more robust system when using Vista Ultimate. While 1GB is perfectly fine for day-to-day computing tasks, anything more and you definitely might need to upgrade the RAM on the PC in question. You didn't mention your specifications...but i'm assuming they are up to par.
I work in computer sales and with customers that I deal with..most of the ones that say Vista is so **** are the ones that haven't even used it.
